Innovation Day at Stuttgart Media University

On Tuesday November 28, 2017, the Thrive project was presented at the Innovation Day. This is a day full of lectures about innovative technologies and projects, as organised by Stuttgart Media University (Hochschule der Medien, HdM). The lectures are open to both international peers from partner institutions as well as the students of HdM. The innovation day is part of HdM’s International Week.

Thrive! was presented by Sander Spek (from Artevelde University College), in a presentation entitled 'Bringing entrepreneurial skills to the creative industries'. Around 25 attendees listened to his story on why the creative industries need more entrepreneurial competencies. He explained why the project addresses specifically the three target groups of young entrepreneurs, people working in companies with growth potential and female entrepreneurs. Finally, he elaborated on the tools and modules the project will create for these groups. Questions asked by members of the audience afterwards triggered a short but lively discussion on the definition of entrepreneurship, and on the special focus on female entrepreneurs.
